Backwards/Inside Out Day

We love Red Ribbon Week! Today was a lot of fun as the students came in wearing their clothes backwards or inside out or both! We talked about how living a life with drugs is not a good thing and that we are celebrating living a healthy lifestyle by doing something special each day this week. Here are some inside out kids:

Here are a lot of backwards kids:

And here are the backwards and inside out kids! This of course has nothing to do with their personalities!

Today we also got to know CZ a little better. He brought his poster in to share with the class and we learned all about his family and some things he likes about himself as well.

In the afternoon we went to the computer lab so I could show the students how to use spellingcity.com. We learned how to choose our class list as well as how to play all of the games. I sent home a paper on how to do this same thing at home with your students today. I hope you get a chance to see it in action - it's a really cool thing for your students! SF made sure to bring his spelling words with him so he could look at them if he needed to during the games.

JW played Hang Mouse several times - I don't kow if he played any other game, he enjoyed this one so much!

BZ enjoyed Hangmouse also but she made sure to try all of the games out before she settled on a favorite.
TT and CG are focused on their screens.
Here are a couple of the games the students were able to play: Word Search and HangMouse .

At the end of the day before we had our reading skill groups I passed out pennies for those students who had good behaviour. RH was my helper of the day and so she was in charge of The Bank. Students would bring their money to her to exchange for bigger coins. She did a great job double-checking their counting and helping them choose the correct coins to trade in.
