This last week we worked on creating monster stories. First we went to the computer lab and visited crayola.com and created the monster. You get to chose different tops and bottoms for you monster. Here TVN is getting ready to type in the name of his monster.
This is what the page looks like when you are creating your monster.

After we printed out and colored our pictures we got busy writing different facts about our monsters. Each child decided what their monster liked to eat, where it lived, what it's bad habits were and what it did for fun on Halloween. RH is using a graphic organizer to collect her thoughts before she turns her ideas into a paragraph.
WH is working on his paragraph.
AC is finished with his picture and paragraph. He chose black paper for the background and he's ready to show everyone!
Last Friday everyone wore red to show awareness of Red Ribbon Spirit week. We had an assembly and it was really fun seeing everyone in the same color!

Here we are at the assembly. We had such good behavior that the secret judges chose us to win the primary behavior trophy. When you win the trophy you get to display it in your room for a whole month and you get a little prize as well. We received Sherwood Panther Pencils that change colors as you hold them. They are really cool!
This was our first awards assembly. I chose 6 students to receive an award for respectful behavior. It was very hard to chose! I ended up picking KC, KW, IH, CZ and BZ. I had also chose TG but she moved before I could give her the award.
Here is CZ, BZ, KC and KW back in the classroom after the assembly. They were very proud of their awards.
